The Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent their second-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft on Florida quarterback Kyle Trask, hoping to give themselves a longer-term backup plan for Tom Brady.

Trask hasn't had much to do since, a healthy scratch for every regular-season game of his career so far, as he continues to take a back seat to Brady's veteran backup, Blaine Gabbert.

HOW TO WATCH: Everything you need to know for Ravens-Buccaneers on Thursday night

That streak appears to be coming to an end, as Trask should be active for Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

It has little to do with Trask himself, though, as the Bucs have already ruled out seven players for Thursday night's game due to injury.

PREDICTIONS: Who will win in Week 8 between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens?

Each week, every team can dress 46 of their 53 active players, which means Trask shouldn't need to be a healthy scratch this week with seven players already ruled out.

Unless the Bucs make a late move putting a player on injured reserve, Trask should be active for the first regular-season NFL game of his career, halfway through his second season.

The Buccaneers will host the Baltimore Ravens tonight at Raymond James Stadium with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime.
