Arizona Cardinals announce AQ Shipley as new radio analyst
The Arizona Cardinals have found their new radio analyst.
With less than two weeks remaining before their preseason opener, the organization announced on July 28 that A.Q. Shipley will take over as the new color commentator on radio broadcasts.
A nine-year NFL veteran, Shipley spent five seasons with the Cardinals from 2015-19, serving as their starting center in three of those years. During his time with the organization, he was noted for his insight and transparency in dealings with reporters and providing fans with a window into the team.
Now, that will be Shipley’s responsibility on radio broadcasts, as he replaces long-time radio analyst Ron Wolfley, who stepped down earlier this year. Shipley will team up with Dave Pasch, who is entering his 24th season with the Cardinals. Paul Calvisi, another longtime presence on Cardinals radio, remains the sideline reporter.
Since retiring after the 2020 season, Shipley has spent time as both a coach and a media personality. He worked as an assistant offensive line coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021 and 2022. In the media space, he has made regular appearances on the Pat McAfee show, hosting the “In The Trenches” segment, which focuses on offensive line play.
Shipley will make his analyst debut for the Cardinals' preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Aug. 9. That game, like every Cardinals broadcast, will be on Arizona Sports 98.7.
