Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham (concussion) being released from hospital Saturday
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham is being discharged from UCLA Harbor Medical Center on Saturday, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the news.
Parham was admitted to the hospital Thursday evening. The Chargers tight end appeared to lose consciousness when his head slammed to the ground while he was trying to catch a pass in the back of the end zone during the first quarter of the club's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that night.
The Chargers' medical staff removed Parham's facemask and placed the 6-foot-8 tight end on a stretcher. His arms were shaking as he exited the field while players and coaches on both sides watched in concern.

“That’s the tough side of pro sport. Any time that you see that live and you’re close to it, it impacts you. At the same time, we’re trying to play for him the rest of the way. That’s what our guys did. They laid it on the line and played a whale of a game for him. I hope that he’s proud of that," Chargers coach Brandon Staley said after the game. "Just praying for him right now."
Parham is a second-year tight end out of Stetson. He's tallied 20 receptions, 190 yards and three touchdowns for the Bolts this year. He's produced 30 receptions, 349 yards and six touchdowns in 27 career games.
