The outcome of the Los Angeles Chargers season will be determined by their wild-card playoff game this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In addition to the higher stakes that the playoffs lend themselves, the matchup will mark quarterback Justin Herbert's postseason debut in his third year under center for the Bolts.

Herbert was asked if he had any extra motivation heading into this season-defining matchup and told reporters on Thursday that he wasn't so sure that was the case.

"If there was extra fire in my belly this week, it would imply that I didn't have enough during the regular season," Herbert said.

"I think we're treating it like another game because we gave our best effort week in and week out. This is just another great opportunity to go play football and this team is special. We're looking forward to the challenge, the opportunity of going out there and playing football."

Jacksonville beat Los Angeles 38-10 in the team's last meeting in Week 3. Herbert was 25-of-45 for 297 yards with one score and one interception. Wide receiver Keenan Allen was out with a hamstring injury.

In this matchup, Herbert will be without his other star wideout Mike Williams, who suffered a back injury in the regular season finale against the Denver Broncos.
