Chiefs wear sweatshirts honoring fallen service members
Prior to their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs wore sweatshirts to commemorate Veterans Day this Friday.
With each team participating in a Salute to Service game on Sunday, Chiefs equipment manager Allen Wright came up with the idea where each player will wear a sweatshirt with the name of fallen service member from the Missouri-Kansas area.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid approved the idea as he comes from a family with military background.
Each sweatshirt has the name of a different soldier and comes with a card that tells the player about the individual.
"We had these cards made up that's a little synopsis of each individual that will go into the players' lockers," Wright told the team's website this week. "They will understand who the person is and who they're representing so there's a little bit of a connection there."
