The Kansas City Current will face off against the Portland Thorns in the 2022 NWSL Championship game Saturday at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. at 6:59 p.m. CT.

An expansion team a season ago, the Current finished last in the league after a winless season. They’ve since flipped the script with a chance to bring home their first-ever NSWL title. The ladies in teal received some encouragement from some high-profile fans Friday.

The team released a video with clips of those fans wishing them luck. The group includes Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes as well as some familiar faces like Eric Stonestreet and Paul Rudd.

“KC Current, we are fired up for you, man,” Reid said. “Go get that championship!”

“What’s up, Kansas City Current,” Mahomes said. “I just want to say I’m so proud of y’all and how y’all have competed this year. There’s nothing like playing for a championship. Go out there and win it, go out there and compete. All of Kansas City is behind you all. We’re so proud of how you competed all year, go out there and win it.”
