Adam Vinatieri's record field goal streak ends at 44

INDIANAPOLIS –  Adam Vinatieri was destined to miss again one of these days.

Funny, how it happened during a game in which nearly everything the Indianapolis Colts tried worked to perfection.

Vinatieri’s NFL record for consecutive field goals came to an end on Sunday, when he missed a 42-yard field attempt late in the second quarter. When the kick sailed wide right, it snapped his streak of consecutive field goals made at 44.

Indianapolis held on for a 24-17 win over the Titans.

Still, Vinatieri’s reaction – he shook his head in disgust after the kick – was a statement in itself to express his disappointment.
