Man charged with murder in shooting death of brother of Colts' Denzelle Good

The brother of Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Denzelle Good was fatally shot Tuesday morning.

Overton Deshan Good, 23, was struck about 8:30 a.m., according to Cherokee County, South Carolina, sheriff's officials and a coroner.

Overton Good and a friend were at a double-wide mobile home when multiple bullets were fired into it, coroner Dennis Fowler said in a news release.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene,” Fowler said.

Jermaine Jefferies, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder.

Overton was with the Good family in Indianapolis on Sunday for the Colts' game against the Houston Texans.

In that game, Denzelle Good played all 90 offensive snaps in the Colts' 37-34 overtime loss, his second start of the year.

The Colts released the following statement: "The Indianapolis Colts family is so saddened to learn of the passing of Overton Good, brother of our very own Denzelle Good, in South Carolina. This tragedy is unimaginable for his loved ones and friends, and our heartfelt prayers go out to Denzelle and his entire family during this trying time."

Good missed the team's walk-through on Tuesday for personal reasons, according to the Colts, and it remains uncertain if  he will play Thursday night in New England.

He has started 20 games for the Colts since being drafted in the seventh round out of Mars Hill in 2015.
