Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich said Monday that Adam Vinatieri remains the team's kicker.

"Adam's our kicker. ... He's an instrumental leader on our team," Reich said in a teleconference.

Reich said that's the case for Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons and beyond.

"Adam will figure it out," Reich said. "It's far from catastrophic."

Vinatieri missed 2-of-3 extra points in Sunday's game. He missed two field goal tries and a PAT in the Colts' opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

"There is nobody else I'd trust more than Adam Vinatieri," Reich added.

The coach deferred to general manager Chris Ballard on whether the team would bring in other kickers to try out. Reich added that Vinatieri gets regular treatment on his knee, but it's not an issue.

Following Sunday's game, Vinatieri told reporters he would speak Monday, but he  reportedly left the team facility mid-afternoon without comment.
