Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers moved into fifth place all-time in NFL career passing yards Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans.
Rivers' first completion to rookie running back Jonathan Taylor yielded 11 yards, pushing him past Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Miami Dolphins great Dan Marino, who had 61,361 yards from 1983-99. Rivers has been in the NFL since 2004, joining the Colts this year after spending his whole career with the Chargers.
It will be a while before Rivers moves up another rung. Here are the first four:
Drew Brees, 79,536 (2001-active)
Tom Brady, 76,969 (2000-active)
Peyton Manning, 71,940 (1998-2015)
Brett Favre, 71,838 (1991-2010)
