Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department detectives announced Wednesday one arrest has been made in the attempted robbery of Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson on Aug. 28.

The suspect, a 17-year-old who was 16 at the time of the attempted robbery, has been charged with assault with intent to rob while armed. An additional suspect remains at large in the case.

"At approximately 5:28 p.m., the suspects approached the victim at the listed location," MPD said in a news release. "The suspects brandished handguns and attempted to rob the victim. During the robbery attempt, one of the suspects fired a handgun, striking the victim. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle without obtaining any property."

Robinson suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body and spent one night in the hospital. Commanders coach Ron Rivera and other team executives visited with him, and he appeared at the team facility two days after the shooting.

Five weeks later, Robinson returned to practice and made his debut in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, when he was last to be introduced pregame and came out of the tunnel to 50 Cent's "Many Men."

Robinson scored his first career touchdown against the Chicago Bears four days later and has 175 yards on 54 rushes while splitting time with Antonio Gibson.

"I expect to dominate as soon as I come back on the field," Robinson said after his first day back at practice. "I don't really want to get too much into what's in the past. I just plan on moving forward and looking for what's ahead of us and try to help this team make some progress."
