Washington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson practiced on a limited basis while nursing a foot injury. He was listed as questionable for Sunday's important NFC East battle against the New York Giants.

On Sunday, Gibson was cleared to play. He is expected to resume his normal role as a complement to backfield mate Brian Robinson Jr.

This is outstanding news for Washington's offense. Gibson and Robinson Jr. have shared the ball during the Commanders' recent winning streak, with both being extremely effective.

Gibson offers more in the passing game and on the edges, while Robinson is more of an inside runner. As a team, the pair is one of the best in the league.

The New York defense should give the Commanders plenty of opportunities to run the football. The Giants rank No. 26 in run defense.

This season, Gibson leads the Commanders with 476 rushing yards.

In related news, the Commanders defensive end Chase Young is inactive for the game. He joins receiver Dax Milne, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, linebacker De'Jon Harris and guards Trai Turner and Chris Paul as players that will not play in Week 13.
