Dolphins first rounder DeVante Parker has another foot surgery

Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker is facing an eight-week recovery after undergoing another surgery on his left foot. But the first-round draft pick should be ready for the regular-season opener, agent Jimmy Gould told Paste BN Sports on Friday.

Parker felt pain in the foot Thursday, Gould said, leading to a mutual decision with the Dolphins to address the issue now. Surgeons replaced a screw used last August to repair the broken fifth metatarsal that cost Parker the first seven games of his senior season at Louisville.

"We took a 10-year approach to this thing," Gould said.

Drafted in the first round (14th overall), Parker had 43 catches for 855 yards and five touchdowns in six games last season.

The Dolphins turned over their receiver group in the offseason. Mike Wallace was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson joined new teams, Kenny Stills was acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Saints and Greg Jennings signed as a free agent.
