Dolphins fear Ryan Tannehill suffered torn ACL

The Miami Dolphins are preparing for one of the worst-case scenarios for the leader of their offense.

Coach Adam Gase said the team fears Ryan Tannehill suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

"We don't know anything official yet, but it doesn't look good," Gase said. "We'll get it confirmed tomorrow."

Tannehill left Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after suffering a knee injury on a hit from defensive end Calais Campbell.

Team athletic trainers checked out Tannehill on the sideline, and then the quarterback slowly limped to the locker room. After Tannehill was ruled out, he returned to the Miami sideline, where he exchanged hugs with several teammates.

He was replaced by veteran backup Matt Moore.

Tannehill is in the midst of a career revival under new head coach Adam Gase, with a career-high 66.7% completion rate entering the game, along with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 195 yards, three touchdowns and an interception before exiting Sunday.
