The tension between the Miami Dolphins' defense and the Baltimore Ravens' offense boiled over once again on Thursday night in the Ravens' 40-0 win.

Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh shoved Ravens quarterback Ryan Mallett by the throat in the fourth quarter, drawing a personal foul on the play.

Suh shoved Mallett as the play was whistled dead. Mallett then got facemask-to-facemask with Suh, and the defensive tackle grabbed the quarterback by the throat and shoved him backward.

"He came right at me, and he tried to tackle me," Suh said of the incident with Mallett after the game. "I just defended myself."

Tight end Ben Watson was one of several Ravens players unhappy with Suh.

"He's a player that takes it too far sometimes," Watson said. "That's his M.O. He's been doing it since he's been in the league. I've seen him do it multiple times, and it's unacceptable."

Mallett entered the game after Joe Flacco took a hit to the head from Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso while sliding.

The skirmish escalated when Dolphins defensive end William Hayes jabbed his finger in the facemask of Ravens offensive tackle Austin Howard. The two began shoving, and Howard appeared to indicate to an official that he had been poked in the eye. Hayes also earned a personal foul on the play.
