Brock Osweiler to start for Miami Dolphins with Ryan Tannehill injured
The Miami Dolphins ruled starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill inactive for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears and will instead to turn to Brock Osweiler.
Tannehill was listed as a limited participant in Friday's practice with a right shoulder injury.
Osweiler will be making his first start for the Dolphins after signing a one-year deal with the team this offseason. He steps in for a Miami offense in search of a spark after Tannehill was held to just 285 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in consecutive losses the last two weeks.
The Bears defense ranks second in the NFL with 18 sacks. Osweiler will also be facing off against a familiar foe in Khalil Mack, who in 2015 sacked the then-Denver Broncos quarterback five times in one game as a member of the Oakland Raiders.
