Tennessee Titans snag first overall pick from Cleveland Browns

Even though the Tennessee Titans lost Sunday, they actually won.

With a 30-24 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts, the Titans finished claimed the first overall pick in the NFL draft.

They dropped seven of their final eight games to finish 3-13. The Cleveland Browns also lost Sunday and are 3-13, but the Titans won the tiebreaker, which is strength of schedule. Tennessee's opponents had a winning percentage of .494 and Cleveland's were .532.

Teams with "weaker" schedules win the tie-breakers for draft order.

The San Diego Chargers (5-11) get the No. 3 pick over Dallas (5-11) by virtue of their .511 strength of schedule vs. Dallas' .532.

The remaining top-10 picks are: Jacksonville (5-11, .473), Baltimore (5-11, .508), San Francisco (5-11, .539), Miami (6-10, .469), Tampa Bay (6-10, .484), New York Giants (6-10, .498) and Chicago (6-10, .548).

The Titans franchise last had the first overall pick in 1978 when the Houston Oilers took running back Earl Campbell. A year ago they took quarterback Marcus Mariota with the No. 2 so will likely be looking for an offensive lineman or wide receiver.

On the other hand, the Browns could target a quarterback at No. 2. Johnny Manziel's future in Cleveland is in question and Memphis' Paxton Lynch and Cal's Jared Goff are quarterbacks considered to be potential top-10 picks.
