Kyler Murray invited to NFL scouting combine

Even as his professional future remains unclear, Kyler Murray has the opportunity to make his case as a football player in front of NFL teams.
The Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner was listed as one of the 338 NFL scouting combine invitees by the league on Thursday.
Murray, the No. 9 overall pick by the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB draft, has remained noncommittal on whether he will pursue baseball or football.
The combine could be a critical point in his decision process, as he is due to report to spring training with the A's in Mesa, Arizona, on Feb. 15. The scouting combine begins Feb. 26 in Indianapolis, and players typically spend the weeks in the lead up for the event preparing for drills.
MOCK DRAFT: Where would Kyler Murray land?
Murray, however, could opt not to participate in the workouts or the event at all.
Murray signed a deal that allowed him to play for Oklahoma last season, but he would be required to return his $4.66 million signing bonus if he chose an alternative path.
In his junior season, Murray threw for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns, adding 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the ground.
