INDIANAPOLIS – Jerry Jeudy wasn’t trying to offend anyone with his riveting fashion statement at the NFL combine.
Nor was the former Alabama star, the top-rated receiver in the upcoming NFL draft, looking to identify himself as Jewish by wearing the Star of David from his neck during his Tuesday media session.
“People call me ‘Jew,’ “ Jeudy explained. “I’m not Jewish, though.”
Not long after Jeudy finished at the podium, however, he took to Twitter to apologize to anyone who may have found his choice of jewelry to be offensive. The Star of David is a widely recognized symbol of Judaism.
“Don’t mean no disrespect to the Jewish people!” Jeudy tweeted. “I’m sorry to the people who took my chain offensive!!”
