Who will be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft 2025? Latest odds ahead of NFL Week 10
When the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants face off in Munich this weekend, it very well could be a battle for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. But who will be the top player in next year's draft class?
Odds are out for who will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and early indications point to one of two stars on the Colorado Buffaloes. Which player it will be will depend heavily on which team ends up securing the top pick in the draft.
The Panthers and the Giants are two of the nine teams in the NFL with only two wins through the first half of the 2024 season. As a result, they're a couple of top contenders for the most coveted pick in the draft. Something will have to give when the two teams face off in Germany in Week 10 for the NFL's fifth and final international game of the year.
Will Carolina be the worst team in the NFL for a second year in a row? Or will New York hold that distinction for the first time in the Super Bowl era?
NFL draft 2025: Odds for No. 1 pick
The following players top BetMGM's latest odds for the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft. With four weeks remaining in the college football season and nine weeks left in the NFL, plenty of change can and will occur with these odds.
1. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado: +300
The son of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is the current favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft according to BetMGM.
Through eight games, Sanders has attempted exactly 300 passes. He's eighth in the nation with his 2,591 passing yards, his 21 touchdown passes are tied for third-most and his 73.3% completion rate is tied for second-best. The Colorado quarterback has also thrown six interceptions this year, which is tied with several other top quarterback prospects: Texas' Quinn Ewers, Miami's Cam Ward and Alabama's Jalen Milroe.
Sanders is an accurate passer with good arm strength, ball placement and field vision, and he's been able to do it all behind a poorly rated offensive line. For many talent evaluators, the 22-year-old is the top quarterback in the 2025 class.
2. Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL): +450
Sanders' biggest competitor for the top quarterback spot in next year's draft is Ward, the Miami (FL) quarterback and Washington State transfer.
Ward is one of the flashiest quarterbacks in college football this year with an ability to consistently generate explosive plays thanks to a strong arm and excellent touch. It's part of the reason he leads FBS quarterbacks with 29 touchdown passes and has the second-most passing yards (3,146) of the bunch.
The Hurricanes starter is capable of improvising and extending plays with his solid vision in the pocket and ability to throw from a variety of arm angles. However, he's also capable of major, crushing mistakes. Ward can be susceptible to bad interceptions when he tries to make something out of nothing rather than throwing the ball away for a harmless incompletion.
3. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado: +750
Hunter is just ahead of Ward on BetMGM for odds to win this year's Heisman Trophy, and with good reason. The Colorado two-way star is a legitimate contributor on both sides of the ball and is a good part of the reason why the Buffaloes have won six games in a season for the first time since 2016.
As a wide receiver, Hunter is 17th of all FBS players with 757 receiving yards, a number that also makes him the third-most productive pass-catcher in the Big 12. His 60 receptions this year are 10th-most of any receiver this year and his eight touchdowns are tied for ninth. Hunter can line up on the inside or outside of the formation, is a plus route-runner with his fluidity in and out of breaks and has excellent acceleration and speed to extend his yards before and after the catch.
As a cornerback, the 21-year-old is also a legitimate difference-maker. He is tied for 19th among FBS defensive backs with seven pass defenses, which tops the Big 12. He's also pulled in two interceptions and forced a fumble this season, the latter of which came at the goal line to give Colorado a conference win over Baylor in late September.
At this point, it's unclear where teams would rather have Hunter play, or whether he'll continue to play on both sides of the ball. But given that there are several teams with poor records that aren't in need of a quarterback (see: Patriots, Jaguars), Hunter has a real shot at being the top pick in next year's draft.
4. Carson Beck, QB, Georgia: +1200
When the 2024 college football season began, Beck was the favorite to be the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Even though his odds have dipped, the Georgia quarterback is not completely out of the conversation.
Beck is 15th among FBS quarterbacks with his 2,302 passing yards, including multiple games with over 400 passing yards this season. However, his recent play has raised concerns for his decision-making and NFL future with eight interceptions in his last three games, raising his total to 11 so far this season.
5. Will Campbell, OT, LSU: +1400
Campbell had been considered a top prospect at his position for two full years before the 2024 season even began.
The LSU tackle earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2022 and first-team All-SEC recognition last year. Pro Football Focus (PFF) rated Campbell as the second-best pass blocker in the country as a freshman in 2022 behind only Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, who was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. In 2023, PFF gave Campbell the fifth-highest run block rating in college football.
Campbell will be another option for teams that are both set at quarterback and in contention for the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
