Regrading the 2024 NFL draft: Eagles get top marks for Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions once again after beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans on Sunday. Philadelphia dominated for much of the game, leading by as much as 34-0 before Kansas City scored late make the final score appear closer than the game actually was.
Philadelphia dominated the trenches on both sides of the ball, especially with their defensive line. Edge rusher Josh Sweat had an impressive performance with a game-high 2.5 sacks. He combined with rookie Jalyx Hunt for a sack and, one play later, rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean took an interception back for a touchdown.
It was an impressive showing by the Eagles defense with a pair of standout rookies in DeJean and fellow cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. After a full season ending with a championship, it's safe to say the Eagles are happy with their draft haul from the 2024 NFL draft.
The same maybe can't be said for other NFL teams after one year with the class. Here's our grades for each team's 2024 NFL draft hauls:
Regrading the 2024 NFL Draft
Teams ordered by their earliest overall pick.
Chicago Bears: B+
Quarterback Caleb Williams is the headliner and, given the hype surrounding the Heisman Trophy winner, he had an average rookie season but could improve under new head coach Ben Johnson. Wide receiver Rome Odunze flashed lots of potential and looks to be a long-term answer on the outside.
Full class:
- QB Caleb Williams (First round, No. 1 overall)
- WR Rome Odunze (First round, No. 9)
- OT Kiran Amegadjie (Third round, No. 75)
- P Tory Taylor (Fourth round, No. 122)
- DL Austin Booker (Fifth round, No. 144)
Washington Commanders: A+
The Commanders look to have found a long-term answer at the most important position in sports with quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Other good performers already include Jer'Zhan Newton and Mike Sainristil on defense and potential left tackle of the future in Brandon Coleman.
Full class:
- QB Jayden Daniels (First round, No. 2 overall)
- DL Jer'Zhan Newton (Second round, No. 36)
- CB Mike Sainristil (Second round, No. 50)
- TE Ben Sinnott (Second round, No. 53)
- OL Brandon Coleman (Third round, No. 67)
- WR Luke McCaffrey (Third round, No. 100)
- LB Jordan Magee (Fifth round, No. 139)
- CB Dominique Hampton (Fifth round, No. 161)
- DL Javontae Jean-Baptiste (Seventh round, No. 222)
New England Patriots: B
The Patriots get credit for finding their quarterback of the future in Drake Maye, but the class hasn't produced much beyond him. None of the other seven draftees could consistently make the starting lineup as rookies.
Full class:
- QB Drake Maye (First round, No. 3 overall)
- WR Ja'Lynn Polk (Second round, No. 37)
- OL Caedan Wallace (Third round, No. 68)
- OL Layden Robinson (Fourth round, No. 103)
- WR Javon Baker (Fourth round, No. 110)
- CB Marcellas Dial (Sixth round, No. 180)
- QB Joe Milton (Sixth round, No. 193)
- TE Jaheim Bell (Seventh round, No. 231)
Arizona Cardinals: B
Arizona had a big class with 11 draftees headlined by wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Their picks on defense flashed some good potential, specifically cornerback Max Melton and safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson.
Full class:
- WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (First round, No. 4 overall)
- DL Darius Robinson (First round, No. 27)
- CB Max Melton (Second round, No. 43)
- RB Trey Benson (Third round, No. 66)
- OL Isaiah Adams (Third round, No. 71)

- OL Christian Jones (Fifth round, No. 162)
- WR Tejhaun Palmer (Sixth round, No. 191)
- CB Jaden Davis (Seventh round, No. 226)
Los Angeles Chargers: A
Los Angeles' second-round pick Ladd McConkey took little time becoming quarterback Justin Herbert's top target in the passing game. Top rookie Joe Alt was a solid right tackle in his first year and fifth-round cornerbacks Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart were difference makers for the Chargers' much-improved defense.
Full class:
- OT Joe Alt (First round, No. 5 overall)
- WR Ladd McConkey (Second round, No. 34)
- LB Junior Colson (Third round, No. 69)
- DL Justin Eboigbe (Fourth round, No. 105)
- CB Tarheeb Still (Fifth round, No. 137)
- CB Cam Hart (Fifth round, No. 140)
- RB Kimani Vidal (Sixth round, No. 181)
- WR Brenden Rice (Seventh round, No. 225)
- WR Cornelius Johnson (Seventh round, No. 253)
New York Giants: A-
Top pick Malik Nabers broke multiple NFL rookie receiving records as well as franchise receiving records in year one. He and fifth-round running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. became just the third rookie duo in NFL history to have 1,000 yards from scrimmage. Cornerback Andru Phillips had a good first season in the slot to round out the class already.
Full class:
- WR Malik Nabers (First round, No. 6 overall)
- S Tyler Nubin (Second round, No. 47)
- CB Andru Phillips (Third round, No. 70)
- TE Theo Johnson (Fourth round, No. 107)
- RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (Fifth round, No. 166)
- LB Darius Muasau (Sixth round, No. 183)
Tennessee Titans: C+
The Titans' second-round pick, defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat, gave them great returns in year one. Top selection JC Latham was solid but inconsistent at times.
Full class:
- OT JC Latham (First round, No. 7 overall)
- DL T'Vondre Sweat (Second round, No. 38)
- LB Cedric Gray (Fourth round, No. 106)
- CB Jarvis Brownlee (Fifth round, No. 146)
- WR Jha'Quan Jackson (Sixth round, No. 182)
- S James Williams (Seventh round, No. 242)
- DL Jaylen Harrell (Seventh round, No. 252)
Atlanta Falcons: B-
Atlanta shocked many by taking quarterback Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8 overall, but he ended up being the best option at the position by the end of the season over free agent signee Kirk Cousins. Outside of that, not a lot of production from the class beyond fifth round linebacker JD Bertrand.
Full class:
- QB Michael Penix Jr. (First round, No. 8 overall)
- DT Ruke Orhorhoro (Second round, No. 35)
- DL Bralen Trice (Third round, No. 74)
- DL Brandon Dorlus (Fourth round, No. 109)
- LB JD Bertrand (Fifth round, No. 143)
- RB Jase McClellan (Sixth round, No. 186)
- WR Casey Washington (Sixth round, No. 187)
- DL Zion Logue (Sixth round, No. 197)
Minnesota Vikings: C+
Minnesota's top pick, quarterback J.J. McCarthy, missed the year with an injury which makes it tough to grade this class. The Vikings' other first-round pick, Dallas Turner, had a solid first season with three sacks in 16 games. Rookie kicker Will Reichard also made 24 of 30 field goals in 13 starts.
Full class:
- QB J.J. McCarthy (First round, No. 10 overall)
- LB Dallas Turner (First round, No. 17)
- CB Khyree Jackson (Fourth round, No. 108)
- OL Walter Rouse (Sixth round, No. 177)
- OL Michael Jurgens (Seventh round, No. 230)
- DL Levi Drake Rodriguez (Seventh round, No. 232)
New York Jets: C
New York needed top pick Olumuyiwa Fashanu to start multiple games in 2024 due to injuries at both right tackle and left tackle, and he was okay in year one. Fourth-round running back Braelon Allen flashed at times but the rest of the class did not have an impact in year one.
Full class:
- OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu (First round, No. 11 overall)
- WR Malachi Corley (Third round, No. 65)
- RB Braelon Allen (Fourth round, No. 134)
- QB Jordan Travis (Fifth round, No. 171)
- RB Isaiah Davis (Fifth round, No. 173)
- CB Qwan'tez Stiggers (Fifth round, No. 176)
- S Jaylen Key (Seventh round, No. 257)
Denver Broncos: A-
Denver made Bo Nix the sixth quarterback taken in the first round, and he steadily improved as the year wore on to become a good starter for the future. The rest of the class didn't put up eye-popping numbers but were solid contributors, including linebacker Jonah Elliss (five sacks) and wide receiver Devaughn Vele, who took over as the starter in the slot.
Full class:
- QB Bo Nix (First round, No. 12 overall)
- LB Jonah Elliss (Third round, No. 76)
- WR Troy Franklin (Fourth round, No. 102)
- CB Kris Abrams-Draine (Fifth round, No. 145)
- RB Audric Estime (Fifth round, No. 147)
- WR Devaughn Vele (Seventh round, No. 235)
- OL Nick Gargiulo (Seventh round, No. 256)
Las Vegas Raiders: A
Las Vegas' top pick, Brock Bowers, broke multiple rookie tight-end records and asserted himself as one of the best players at the position already in year one. Rookie linemen Jackson Powers-Johnson and DJ Glaze both look like potential long-term answers at center and right tackle, respectively.
Full class:
- TE Brock Bowers (First round, No. 13 overall)
- OL Jackson Powers-Johnson (Second round, No. 44)
- OL DJ Glaze (Third round, No. 77)

- RB Dylan Laube (Sixth round, No. 208)
- S Trey Taylor (Seventh round, No. 223)
- CB M.J. Devonshire (Seventh round, No. 229)
New Orleans Saints: B-
The Saints' top two picks, tackle Taliese Fuaga and cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, started most of the season. Fuaga was good at left tackle, and McKinstry was solid in year one. Beyond that, New Orleans didn't get much from the class.
Full class:
- OT Taliese Fuaga (First round, No. 14 overall)
- CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Second round, No. 41)
- QB Spencer Rattler (Fifth round, No. 150)

- DL Khristian Boyd (Sixth round, No. 199)
- OT Josiah Ezirim (Seventh round, No. 239)
Indianapolis Colts: C
Top pick Laiatu Latu was touted as the most pro-ready edge rusher in the class and notched four sacks and three forced fumbles in year one. The rest of the class didn't make much noise besides Matt Goncalves' okay job filling in at right tackle for half of the season.
Full class:
- DL Laiatu Latu (First round, No. 15 overall)
- WR Adonai Mitchell (Second round, No. 52)
- OL Matt Goncalves (Third round, No. 79)
- OL Tanor Bortolini (Fourth round, No. 117)
- WR Anthony Gould (Fifth round, No. 142)
- LB Jaylon Carlies (Fifth round, No. 151)

- CB Micah Abraham (Sixth round, No. 201)
- DL Jonah Laulu (Seventh round, No. 234)
Seattle Seahawks: B-
Seattle's rookie class had a couple of solid starters to build for the future at defensive tackle (Byron Murphy) and linebacker (Tyrice Knight). Tight end AJ Barner put up some good numbers for a fourth-round rookie, but the class lacked much beyond that.
Full class:
- DL Byron Murphy (First round, No. 16 overall)
- OL Christian Haynes (Third round, No. 81)
- LB Tyrice Knight (Fourth round, No. 118)
- TE AJ Barner (Fourth round, No. 121)
- CB Nehemiah Pritchett (Fifth round, No. 136)
- OL Sataoa Laumea (Sixth round, No. 179)
- CB D.J. James (Sixth round, No. 192)
- OL Micahel Jerrell (Seventh round, No. 207)
Cincinnati Bengals: C
Top pick Amarius Mims saw the most action of the class but struggled as a rookie at offensive tackle. Kris Jenkins and Josh Newton started multiple games at defensive tackle and cornerback, respectively, but neither were difference-makers in year one.
Full class:
- OT Amarius Mims (First round, No. 18 overall)
- DL Kris Jenkins (Second round, No. 49)
- WR Jermaine Burton (Third round, No. 80)

- DE Cedric Johnson (Sixth round, No. 214)
- S Daijahn Anthony (Seventh round, No. 224)
- C Matt Lee (Seventh round, No. 237)
Los Angeles Rams: A+
Los Angeles selected the Defensive Rookie of the Year in the first round (Jared Verse) and selected his college teammate a round later (Braden Fiske). That alone was a good return, but the team also found its starting kicker in the sixth round as well as a potential long-term answer at center.
Full class:
- DL Jared Verse (First round, No. 19 overall)
- DL Braden Fiske (Second round, No. 39 overall)
- RB Blake Corum (Third round, No. 83)

- K Joshua Karty (Sixth round, No. 209)
- WR Jordan Whittington (Sixth round, No. 213)
- OL Beaux Limmer (Sixth round, No. 217)
- OL KT Leveston (Seventh round, No. 254)
Pittsburgh Steelers: A-
This could've been even better if it wasn't for an injury to top pick Troy Fautanu. Two of the Steelers' three best offensive linemen in 2024 were rookies, including center Zach Frasier and guard Mason McCormick. Even with Fautanu's injury and Roman Wilson's lack of production, it's a class with multiple building blocks.
Full class:
- OL Troy Fautanu (First round, No. 20 overall)
- OL Zach Frazier (Second round, No. 51)
- WR Roman Wilson (Third round, No. 84)
- LB Payton Wilson (Third round, No. 98)
- OL Mason McCormick (Fourth round, No. 119)
- DL Logan Lee (Sixth round, No. 178)
- S Ryan Watts (Sixth round, No. 195)
Miami Dolphins: C+
Miami had just seven draftees, but at least one of them is a potential piece for the future. Top pick Chop Robinson had some flashes off the edge in year one. Patrick Paul and Malik Washington look like developmental players who could pay off as early as next season.
Full class:
- DE Chop Robinson (First round, No. 21 overall)
- OL Patrick Paul (Second round, No. 55)
- RB Jaylen Wright (Fourth round, No. 120)
- DL Mohamed Kamara (Fifth round, No. 158)

- S Patrick McMorris (Sixth round, No. 198)
- WR Tahj Washington (Seventh round, No. 241)
Philadelphia Eagles: A+
Philadelphia's first three picks in this group alone make it a home run. Mitchell and DeJean were difference makers in the Super Bowl after playing well all season. Hunt's half sack was a good sign for the future as well ,alongside a talented defensive line.
Full class:
- CB Quinyon Mitchell (First round, No. 22 overall)
- CB Cooper DeJean (Second round, No. 40)
- DE Jalyx Hunt (Third round, No. 94)

- WR Johnny Wilson (Sixth round, No. 185)
- OL Dylan McMahon (Sixth round, No. 190)
Jacksonville Jaguars: B
Jacksonville's top pick Brian Thomas Jr. did all of the heavy lifting for this class in year one. He led all rookies in receiving yards (1,282) and touchdowns (10). After him, there's not much to write home about after the first year of the class but he's still a great piece going forward.
Full class:
- WR Brian Thomas Jr. (First round, No. 23 overall)
- DT Maason Smith (Second round, No. 48)
- CB Jarrian Jones (Third round, No. 96)
- OL Javon Foster (Fourth round, No. 114)

- K Cam Little (Sixth round, No. 212)
- LB Myles Cole (Seventh round, No. 236)
Detroit Lions: B-
Detroit only had six picks in this class and the top one, cornerback Terrion Arnold, was a solid starter in year one. The other handful of players are all developmental pieces at this stage, but the Lions have a track record in getting the most out of their picks.
Full class:
- CB Terrion Arnold (First round, No. 24 overall)
- CB Ennis Rakestraw (Second round, No. 61)
- OL Giovanni Manu (Fourth round, No. 126)

- DT Mekhi Wingo (Sixth round, No. 189)
- OL Christian Mahogany (Sixth round, No. 210)
Green Bay Packers: B+
Green Bay lost top pick Jordan Morgan to injury mid-season, but it was the rookies on defense who made a big impact in year one. Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and defensive backs Javon Bullard and Evan Williams look like building blocks for the future.
Full class:
- OL Jordan Morgan (First round, No. 25 overall)
- LB Edgerrin Cooper (Second round, No. 45)
- CB Javon Bullard (Second round, No. 58)

- OL Travis Glover (Sixth round, No. 202)
- QB Michael Pratt (Seventh round, No. 245)
- CB Kalen King (Seventh round, No. 255)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A-
Tampa Bay found a building block on the offensive line with their first-round pick (Graham Barton) and then took the top rookie running back in the NFL in 2024 in the fourth round (Bucky Irving). Between those picks, they grabbed a receiver for the future in Jalen McMillan. That's a pretty good haul.
Full class:
- OL Graham Barton (First round, No. 26 overall)
- LB Chris Braswell (Second round, No. 57)
- CB Tykee Smith (Third round, No. 89)
- WR Jalen McMillan (Third round, No. 92)
- RB Bucky Irving (Fourth round, No. 125)
- OL Elijah Klein (Sixth round, No. 220)
- TE Devin Culp (Seventh round, No. 246)
Kansas City Chiefs: B-
It took some time but top pick Xavier Worthy became a key piece of the Chiefs' offense as a rookie. There wasn't much as far as early returns beyond him, though. Jaden Hicks was the best of the rest as a solid safety.
Full class:
- WR Xavier Worthy (First round, No. 28 overall)
- OL Kingsley Suamataia (Second round, No. 63)
- TE Jared Wiley (Fourth round, No. 131)

- DB Kamal Hadden (Sixth round, No. 211)
- OL C.J. Hanson (Seventh round, No. 248)

Full class:

- OL Nathan Thomas (Seventh round, No. 233)
- DL Justin Rogers (Seventh round, No. 244)
Baltimore Ravens: B
The Ravens' top two picks were year-long contributors as rookies, with Roger Rosengarten starting at right tackle. The rest of the class beyond those two didn't do much in year one but Baltimore has a reputation for development over multiple seasons.
Full class:
- CB Nate Wiggins (First round, No. 30 overall)
- OL Roger Rosengarten (Second round, No. 62)
- DE Adisa Isaac (Third round, No. 93)
- WR Devontez Walker (Fourth round, No. 113)

- C Nick Samac (Seventh round, No. 228)
- S Sanoussi Kane (Seventh round, No. 250)
San Francisco 49ers: A-
The 49ers didn't get a full year out of top pick Ricky Pearsall after the wide receiver was shot in the chest before the season, but he played well in limited action. But even removing his production, this was a good class down the order. Notably, guard Dominick Puni was one of the best rookie interior offensive lineman in 2024.
Full class:
- WR Ricky Pearsall (First round, No. 31 overall)
- CB Renardo Green (Second round, No. 64)
- OL Dominick Puni (Third round, No. 86)

- OL Jarrett Kingston (Sixth round, No. 215)
- LB Tatum Bethune (Seventh round, No. 251)
Carolina Panthers: B+
Carolina traded back into the first round to take wide receiver Xavier Legette and the early returns have been solid. He looks like a building block for the future, as does tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders.
Full class:
- WR Xavier Legette (First round, No. 32 overall)
- RB Jonathon Brooks (Second round, No. 46)
- LB Trevin Wallace (Third round, No. 72)

- LB Michael Barrett (Seventh round, No. 240)
Buffalo Bills: B
Buffalo got a pair of offensive contributors in the class with top pick Keon Coleman at wide receiver and Ray Davis at running back. The duo combined for 10 touchdowns from scrimmage. Beyond that, not a lot of early returns for the class.
Full class:
- WR Keon Coleman (Second round, No. 33 overall)
- S Cole Bishop (Second round, No. 60)

- CB Daequan Hardy (Sixth round, No. 219)
- OT Travis Clayton (Seventh round, No. 221)
Houston Texans: B+
Houston didn't have a first round pick but was able to grab three starters with their first three picks, including two of the top rookie defensive backs in 2024. Add in a starting tackle in Blake Fisher and that's a very good first season for their draftees.
Full class:
- CB Kamari Lassiter (Second round, No. 42 overall)
- OL Blake Fisher (Second round, No. 60)
- S Calen Bullock (Third round, No. 78)

- OL Ladarius Henderson (Seventh round, No. 249)

Cleveland had just six picks in the draft as the final year affected by the Deshaun Watson trade. None of those six players had a big impact in year one. Top pick Michael Hall was maybe the best of the bunch with one sack in eight games played in 2024.
Full class:
- DT Michael Hall (Second round, No. 54 overall)
- OL Zak Zinter (Third round, No. 85)
- WR Jamari Thrash (Fifth round, No. 156)
