The 2025 NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday night. The 2025 class of NFL prospects has been lauded as a deep group of talent at positions that typically get overlooked.
As such, position groups like quarterback and wide receiver are being cast aside unlike in recent draft history.
That said, Miami Hurricane quarterback Cam Ward is widely expected to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans. Fans in the Music City hope Ward is the answer the team has been searching for. After that selection, it's anyone's guess.
All eyes will be on the Cleveland Browns, who hold the second pick and have several options. With Deshaun Watson expected to miss 2025 with an Achilles injury and only Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco on the current depth chart, Cleveland can add the second-best QB prospect, Shedeur Sanders. Or the Browns can opt to trade down and secure more capital; select the unicorn, Travis Hunter; or pair Abdul Carter with Myles Garrett.
The draft is wide open compared to recent years. Quarterback-needy teams typically positioned in prime spots to select a passer may pass for a blue-chip player. The class is characterized by its depth, meaning the drop-off in talent isn't as big as it typically is.
