The New York Jets look to the 2025 NFL Draft to take flight.

It's been a somewhat quiet offseason for Woody Johnson's squad. That is, outside of the Aaron Rodgers release. And the Justin Fields signing. And a very, very poor report card.

Glenn and Mougey had the chance to put their stamp on the direction of the organization with the No. 7 overall pick, the very first selection of the new regime. That turned out to be tackle Armand Membou, who will look to bookend the Jets' O-line with Olu Fashanu in 2025 and beyond.

Here's who the Jets picked in the 2025 NFL Draft.

New York Jets 2025 NFL Draft picks

The Jets ended up making seven draft picks during the draft:

  • Round 1, Pick 7: Armand Membou, T, Missouri

Exclusively a right tackle during three years as a starter for Mizzou, he should stay there with the Jets, who picked LT Olu Fashanu in Round 1 a year ago. Membou, a powerful run blocker, didn’t allow a sack in 2024 in more than 400 pass-blocking snaps. At 6-4, 332 pounds, he flashed his athleticism with a 4.9 40-yard dash and 34-inch vertical leap at this year’s scouting combine. He should be perfectly fine at guard if it turns out he struggles outside in the NFL. But if he lives up to his potential, it seems the Jets' new regime – led by former Lions DC Aaron Glenn – is already following Detroit's blueprint by laying its foundation first on the offensive line. – Nate Davis, Paste BN Sports

  • Round 2, Pick 42: Mason Taylor, TE, LSU

Analysis from Paste BN Sports' Nate Davis: After addressing the offensive line Thursday night, new HC Aaron Glenn continues following the Lions’ team-building philosophy by adding a tight end to help QB Justin Fields. Taylor is the son of Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, who played for the NYJ the last time they were in the playoffs … which was 2010. A great combo tight end, Mason Taylor (6-5, 251) should be the physical aspect the new-look Jets are sure to value yet set an LSU tight end record with 55 catches in 2024. And he can move down the seams.

  • Round 3, Pick 73: Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State

Analysis from Paste BN Sports' Nate Davis: The Jets needed a new CB2 opposite Sauce Gardner following D.J. Reed’s free agency defection to Detroit. Thomas is big (6-2, 197) and athletic enough to break up 17 passes over the past two seasons.

  • Round 4, Pick 110: Arian Smith, WR, Georgia
  • Round 4, Pick 130 (from Philadelphia): Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
  • Round 5, Pick 162: Francisco Mauigoa, LB, Miami
  • Round 5, Pick 176: Tyler Baron, Edge, Miami

New York Jets 2025 NFL Draft needs

Defensive tackle

The Jets have gained a reputation for consistently selecting interior defensive linemen early in the first round, sometimes to the point of becoming a running joke. However, in 2025, a DT selection might be warranted. Quinnen Williams, 2022 All Pro, needs help along the inside of the line on a defense that severely regressed in 2024. The Jets need to find a help on the inside to take pressure off Williams and their young edge rushers, Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson II.

Wide receiver

While the debate surrounding Tyler Warren or Armand Membou will rage on until the Jets turn in their card on Thursday night, wide receiver might be a bigger need. Garrett Wilson is still developing into a legitimate No. 1 option, but the lack of depth on the opposite side of the field from him has been apparent since his entrance to the league. The Jets should look to fill out their wide receiver room before targeting a less volume-heavy position such as tight end.

Offensive tackle

The Jets picked Penn State's Olu Fashanu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but right tackle has been something of a revolving door for them over the last decade. While Fashanu flashed in spots in 2024, New York would do well to secure another young offensive lineman to pair with Fashanu. That would give them four young, controllable and productive lineman on rookie deals.

New York Jets NFL mock draft 2025

Here's who the Jets could target in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Paste BN's Jacob Camenker:

  • Round 1, Pick 7: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
    • The Jets seem increasingly likely to take an offensive player with the seventh pick. More specifically, Will Campbell, Armand Membou and Tyler Warren are rumored to be the team's top three options with its first-round pick, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. Campbell and Membou are more likely to be off the board than Warren, who generated 104 catches for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns during his final season at Penn State. The 6-6, 256-pound tight end has a good combination of size, athleticism and production that should make him a high-quality mismatch weapon at the NFL level. He would give Fields a big-time middle-of-the-field weapon and help replace the departed Tyler Conklin.
  • Round 2, Pick 42: Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College
    • If the Jets don't take a right tackle in the first round, they may take one in the second round. They lost Morgan Moses in free agency, so they have a big hole to fill on that side of the line. Trapilo was a four-year starter at Boston College and has room to add mass to his huge 6-8, 316-pound frame. He profiles as a plug-and-play right tackle, and Glenn will value bulking up in the trenches after witnessing the success the Detroit Lions had doing so during his four years with the team.
  • Round 3, Pick 73: Jack Bech, WR, TCU
  • Round 4, Pick 110: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State
  • Round 5, Pick 145: Jamaree Caldwell, DT, Oregon
  • Round 5, Pick 162: Brashard Smith, RB, SMU
  • Round 6, Pick 186: Ahmed Hassanein, edge, Boise State
  • Round 6, Pick 207: Hunter Wholer, S, Wisconsin
