Washington Commanders NFL draft picks 2025: Full list of team's round-by-round selections

For the first time in a long time, the Washington Commanders have a reason for hope.
It's not often that the NFL draft is secondary in the minds of Commanders fans, but that is the case this offseason. Fresh off an appearance in the NFC championship game, this is a squad on the rise that's finally eyeing a Lombardi Trophy.
It was a magical season for a group that finally got to put Dan Snyder in the rearview. New owner Josh Harris put his stamp on the squad, hiring Dan Quinn and Adam Peters to head the new operation in D.C.
Couple that with a draft that netted them Jayden Daniels and you have a team that promises to be a threat moving forward.
Washington has gotten to work this offseason, acquiring Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil from the Houston Texans and All-Pro receiver Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers. There is still work to be done, however.
That begins at the NFL draft, where the Commanders will look to uncover a few more diamonds in the rough on their quest to be champions. Here's what to know about the Commanders' picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Commanders 2025 NFL Draft picks
The Commanders have five picks in the 2025 NFL draft. They head into draft night without a third-round pick, but own the Texans' fourth-round pick as a result of the Tunsil trade. Washington is also lacking a fifth-round selection thanks to their deal with the 49ers for Samuel.
Here's the complete list:
- Round 1, Pick 29: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
After springing for veteran LT Laremy Tunsil in a trade last month, GM Adam Peters adds another bodyguard for QB Jayden Daniels, last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year. Conerly (6-5, 311) allowed just two sacks in two years as a starter for the Ducks. – Nate Davis, Paste BN Sports
- Round 2, Pick 61: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
The Alabama transfer has nice size (6-1, 195) and only allowed a 54.5 QB rating when targeted in 2024. He's a nice pivot after the departure of former first-rounder Emmanuel Forbes, who didn't hold up physically here. – Nate Davis, Paste BN Sports
- Round 4, Pick 128 (from Houston): Jaylin Lane, WR, Virginia Tech
- Round 6, Pick 205: Kain Medrano, LB, UCLA
- Round 7, Pick 245: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB, Arizona
Commanders 2025 NFL Draft needs
Defensive back
While the Commanders are in a better spot than most teams, that is under the assumption that Marshon Lattimore can stay healthy all season. That is a long shot considering his recent history and the safety spot has been weakened by the departure of Jeremy Chinn. Some help on the back end would do wonders for Dan Quinn's defense.
Pass rushers
The Commanders can take a page out of their division rival that knocked them out of the playoffs. The Philadelphia Eagles built a youthful, dominant pass rush that delivered a Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia. Washington doesn't have a game-wrecker on the edge and could especially benefit from the injection of some youth there as well.
Running back/wide receiver
Washington can go in a number of directions in the draft, but should look to bolster their depth at the playmaker positions. Despite being a team on the rise, the Commanders don't have a ton of youth or explosiveness at either position. A game-breaking running back or speedster at receiver would make Kliff Kingsbury's offense a bigger threat next season.
Commanders 2025 NFL mock draft
Here's what the Commanders could do come draft night, according to Paste BN Sports' Ayrton Ostly:
- Round 1, Pick 29: CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina
- The East Carolina product is nearly tailor-made for Dan Quinn's zone defenses. If Washington wants to contend, they'll face talented pass catching corps like Philadelphia's on a yearly basis. Shoring up the secondary with a tall, long, athletic cornerback who plays a tough brand of run defense is a worthwhile investment.
- Round 2, Pick 61: OT Cameron Williams, Texas
- Williams has a higher ceiling than most tackle prospects in the class but is very raw at this point of his development. If he doesn't work out on the outside, he should be a competent starter at guard.
- Round 4, Pick 128: Edge Tyler Baron, Miami
- Round 6, Pick 205: WR Jaylin Lane, Virginia Tech
- Round 7, Pick 245: RB Trevor Etienne, Georgia
