NFL says it will investigate Shedeur Sanders NFL draft prank call

Shedeur Sanders was pranked. The NFL is investigating how it happened.
A league spokesman told Paste BN Sports on Sunday the league is looking into the now infamous prank call that occurred as Sanders was waiting to hear which team drafted him. The prankster said he was Mickey Loomis, the general manager of the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were one of the teams many draft experts pegged as a possible destination for Sanders.
The biggest question emerging from the prank was how could it have happened? The NFL, agents and players keep the phone numbers of the potential draftees extremely private with only a handful of people having the number. In many cases, players will get a new number and only give that number to the team.
The league is taking what happened to Sanders seriously because if pranksters can infiltrate that system, it could wreak havoc during one of the league's premier events.
The call happened during Day 2. Sanders was attending a draft party at the family's residence in Texas. The video of the prank was posted to the "Well Off Media" YouTube channel of Deion Sanders Jr. In the video, you see that Sanders receives a call from an unknown number.
"He got that call," someone in the background said.
"What's going on?" Sanders greeted the caller. "Say that one more time for me?"
Sanders then put the call on speaker phone for those gathered around to hear.

“This is Mickey Loomis here, of the Saints," the voice on the other end says.
The prankster told Sanders: "It’s been a long wait, man. We’re gonna take you with our next pick right here, man."
"Yes sir, let's be legendary," Sanders replied.
"But you're going to have to wait a little bit longer. Sorry about that."
The phone call ended and Sanders is seen as saying, "What does that mean?"
The people who pulled the prank later released video of them doing it. Sanders was eventually drafted by the Cleveland Browns on Day 3.
