Eagles coach Doug Pederson says Sam Bradford will start at quarterback

So much for a quarterback battle in Philadelphia.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Friday morning that “barring injury” Sam Bradford will be the team’s starting quarterback in September, according to Martin Frank of the News-Journal, a member of the Paste BN Sports Network.

Pederson said "It's unbelievable" what Bradford is doing in practice.

There has been much speculation in Philadelphia – and around the league – whether the Eagles would give Carson Wentz, who they traded up to get with the No 2 overall pick in April’s draft, a chance to start this year.

And while Pederson maintained it is still a competition, his remarks about Bradford seem to close that door – for now, at least.

As for Wentz, Pederson said,  "He's so smart and sharp" and continues to pick things up well.
