Eagles full of praise for former OC Pat Shurmur, who now runs Vikings offense
PHILADELPHIA — Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Vikings will mark a reunion for Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, whose former offensive coordinator, Pat Shurmur, holds the same title with Minnesota. For now.
“Pat, he's a tremendous coach,” said Foles, who played under Shurmur wiith Philadelphia in 2013 and '14.
“I really enjoyed playing for him, and I'm excited. He's obviously had a lot of success since. I haven't seen him since I was here last, I believe, so it will be good to see him and compete against him.”
Whenever the Vikings season ends, Shurmur is expected to be named the New York Giants' new coach, which is well-deserved in Foles’ opinion.

“I was really excited for him for the opportunity,” Foles said. “I know he's focused on (the Vikings), but I'm excited for his opportunity.”
Foles' defensive teammates also have great respect for Shurmur, praising him for his work with Vikings quarterback Case Keenum, who has gone 11-3 as a starter after replacing injured Sam Bradford.
“I think it's just from Shurmur putting him in a good position,” Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said. “You know, he don't allow him to do too much that's not him, and I think they do a good job as far as, you know, how they call their plays and what position they put them in."
