After the first three games, Patterson has 302 rushing yards and is on pace for 1,700 yards this season. In 2021, he rushed for 618 yards, which was a career high for Patterson at the time.

"He's playing really good football," Falcons head coach Arthur Smith told local reporters on Monday. "I think Tyler (Allgeier) is doing a decent job too at supplementing some carries. We will see where it takes off. He is still a valuable piece and we will move CP around if we need to."

The Falcons rushed for 179 yards against the Seahawks. Patterson showed explosive burst as a downhill runner. He averaged 8.3 yards per carry and his longest run accounted for 40 yards.

"Our guys up front did a great job of pushing the line of scrimmage and we found some ways to break runs and really break the game open for us," Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota said after the game

The Falcons will need their 31-year-old kick returner-turned-running back to have another big day on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, who feature their own star  in running back Nick Chubb.
