Two men looking to trademark 'Danny Dimes' nickname of Giants QB Daniel Jones

Two New York men are banking on Daniel Jones' on-field success to make themselves some money, records show.
Christopher Lamparillo and Michael Jakab of Goshen, New York, have applied to trademark "Danny Dimes" — a nickname for the New York Giants' rookie quarterback — in hopes of selling clothing and apparel donning the fan-given name, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The two men pounced on the opportunity on Sept. 17 — the same day Jones was announced as the team's starting quarterback, replacing Eli Manning.
That same day, Jones' jersey became the top selling jersey in the NFL for the day, with a 500 percent increase in sales from the day before.
Jones is fresh off a winning NFL debut on Sunday where he threw for 336 yards and had four total touchdowns in a 32-31 comeback victory, so fans just might start looking for some Daniel Jones gear soon.
However, trademark applications can take months or even one year to be approved, so don't expect official "Danny Dimes" apparel to hit the shelves just yet.
Lamparillo and Jakab could not be reached for comment.
