Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas arrested in alleged hit-and-run accident in California
New York Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas was arrested following an alleged hit-and-run accident Monday in Chico, California, the California Highway Patrol confirmed to Paste BN Sports.
The Giants released a statement Tuesday acknowledging the incident.
"We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Aldrick," the team said. "We have no further comment at this time."
Rosas, 25, was booked into Butte County Jail on misdemeanor hit and run, and driving on a suspended license. Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor in the collision, according to the police report.
The report states that witnesses said they saw Rosas driving erratically at an estimated 100 miles per hour around 8:25 a.m. in Chico, California, when he failed to stop at a red light. The 25-year-old Rosas is accused of driving his vehicle into the side of a truck at an intersection, but he allegedly kept driving.
Rosas' truck reportedly broke down shortly after the crash.
According to the police report, law enforcement arrived on scene and later found Rosas walking near the crash site, and his hands, legs and feet were covered in blood.

Last month, Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker was arrested on armed robbery charges in Florida. Baker’s lawyers have insisted those charges will eventually be dropped, but the Giants asked that he stay away from the team in the weeks since to "focus on his legal issues."
