2025 NFL Draft rumors: Giants hosting private workout for Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

Could the New York Giants still be in on a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft?
The Giants plan to hold a private workout for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders on Thursday, according to NFL Network. Whether New York is betraying some of its draft strategy is up for interpretation this close to the first night of the NFL draft — it's very much smokescreen season.
Sanders will be with the Giants one week before the first round gets underway, as New York gets "one more look" after doing "a lot of work on Sanders since the fall," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on X (formerly Twitter).
The Colorado quarterback also visited the Raiders on a pre-draft visit on Monday, per NFL Network.
Paste BN Sports' Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz predicted Sanders would land in New York in his latest 2025 NFL mock draft.
New York has three quarterbacks on its roster entering draft week. It signed veterans Russell Wilson (one year) and Jameis Winston (two years) to short deals, and the two are expected to compete for the starting job. Behind them, 26-year-old Tommy DeVito returns as a backup.
The Giants own the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft after a 3-14 season in 2024.
Sanders declared for the draft after leading Colorado to a 9-4 season. He finished the year with a 74% completion rate (1st in FBS), 4,134 passing yards (4th), 37 touchdowns (2nd) and 10 interceptions.
