Jacksonville Jaguars standout rookie running back Leonard Fournette escaped serious injury after a minor car accident on Tuesday.

The Jaguars said in a statement that Fournette’s vehicle was rear-ended in the collision.

“Leonard is okay and was able to drive home,” the team said in a statement. “Appreciate everyone that has reached out to check on him.”

Sgt. Dylan Bryan of the Florida Highway Patrol described the three-car collision as a "chain-reaction" accident on Interstate 295 near Jacksonville's Dames Point Bridge. Fournette's car was struck from behind by another vehicle, which was pushed forward after it had been rear-ended.

"Nobody was injured and the scene has been cleared," Bryan told Paste BN Sports.

The Jaguars face the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game.
