Fred Taylor: It's 'a joke' that I wasn't voted best Jaguars player of all time

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been unveiling a list of the 25 best players in their history, as voted upon by an unspecified panel that includes media members.

And let's just say longtime running back Fred Taylor was not too happy about being left out of the top spot.

"What were you guys doing for the 11 YEARS I carried the team," Taylor wrote Wednesday on his protected Twitter account. "One day someone (other than me) will recognize how valuable I was. I did something only 21 players in [the] history of the game [have] done at my position."

He ended the tweet with a hashtag: "#WhatAJoke."

Taylor, now 43, ranks 17th on the NFL's all-time rushing list after amassing 11,695 yards over parts of 13 seasons. He had seven 1,000-yard seasons with the Jaguars, but he only made one Pro Bowl — as an injury replacement in 2007.

Offensive lineman Tony Boselli, a five-time Pro Bowl honoree and three-time all-pro selection, was unveiled as the No. 1 player on the list Thursday morning. Boselli has been a Hall of Fame finalist in each of the past three years.

While Taylor wrote in a second tweet that he "always (roots) for Bo," he continued to argue that he is underrated and deserves more credit for what he accomplished during his career.

"If (the media) pushed me to the HOF there's no doubt I'd be a finalist," Taylor wrote.
