Cam Robinson won’t be available for the Jacksonville Jaguars to begin the regular season.

The NFL is suspending Robinson four games for violating the league’s performance enhancing drugs policy. Robinson is eligible to participate in training camp and in the preseason.

"As a veteran leader in the locker room, I always want to set a good example and my actions in this instance are not a reflection of that goal. I apologize to the fans, my coaches and, most importantly, my teammates," Robinson said in a statement released by the team. "It hurts me that I cannot be out there with my brothers at the start of the regular season. I will attack training camp the same way I have for the last six seasons, to make sure I am ready both mentally and physically."

Robinson has been a mainstay on Jacksonville’s offensive line since the team drafted him in the second round in the 2017 NFL draft out of Alabama. He’s started in at least 14 regular-season games each season since 2019. He gave up four sacks and 27 pressures in 14 starts at left tackle last year, per Pro Football Focus.

"We are aware of the four-game suspension incurred today by OL Cam Robinson. While we certainly respect the NFL's ruling and are disappointed with this development, we will support Cam as he works his way through the suspension," the Jaguars said in a statement. "We are confident that Cam and our team will rise above this challenge as we collectively move forward."

The Jaguars were bracing for the NFL to suspend Robinson since April.

Jacksonville drafted tackle Anton Harrison with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 draft as possible insurance for Robinson. The team also has Walker Little, who can start at left or right tackle.

Robinson signed a three-year, $52.75 million contract extension with the Jaguars in May 2022. He’s logged 4,578 offensive snaps in 75 career regular-season games.
