The New York Jets' already thin receiving corps has taken another significant hit.

Wide receiver Quincy Enunwa has a bulging disc in his neck and will miss the entire upcoming season, Jets coach Todd Bowles said Monday.

Bowles said the ailment will require surgery and that Enunwa faced a six-to-nine-month rehab phase. He added that the injury was not consider career-ending.

Enunwa sustained the injury Saturday during the team's practice. CEnunwa also missed minicamp while recovering from a neck injury Bowles said was similar to his new one.

The third-year veteran was slated to be the Jets' top receiver for an offense in the midst of an upheaval. Enunwa led the team in receiving yards (857) in 2016, but he was set to take on an even bigger role this season following Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker's releases.

Robby Anderson is the Jets' next leading receiver after hauling in 42 catches for 587 yards last season.
