The Jets rookies are reporting to training camp Tuesday, but the most important one isn't there.
Quarterback Sam Darnold, who has not reached a contract agreement with the Jets, is not expected to report to training camp in Florham Park, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
The report also indicates Darnold is not expected to check in until his contract is completed.
It may not be a huge concern yet for both sides, as the team's first practice isn't until Friday.
The Giants signed their first-round pick, Saquon Barkley, to a four-year contract Sunday.
A source told The Record and NorthJersey.com that Barkley's rookie contract is worth $31.2 million guaranteed, including a $20.76 million signing bonus.
