Country music fans are eating good on Thanksgiving this year.

Of the three Thanksgiving game halftime shows, two of artists performing are country musicians. Each of them will perform in one of the earlier games during the national holiday, with electric violinist and dancer Lindsey Stirling rounding out the halftime acts in the Packers vs. Dolphins game at night.

The first act of the day – and therefore the first country performer – is rising star and Grammy-nominated artist Shaboozey, who will perform at halftime of Lions vs. Bears. He'll perform at Ford Field during the nationally televised game on CBS.

Lainey Wilson is the other country artist performing on Thanksgiving. She'll take the stage for the halftime show during the Cowboys vs. Giants game later in the afternoon.

Here's everything to know about Shaboozey ahead of his performance early on Thursday afternoon:

Who is the Lions Thanksgiving halftime show performer?

Shaboozey will be the Lions' halftime performer taking the stage for the Thanksgiving Day Classic Halftime Show powered by Verizon.

Detroit announced that the Grammy-nominated artist would perform at halftime of its Thanksgiving game with a press release and social media graphic on Nov. 10.

"YESSSSSSS!!!!!!" Shaboozey posted on social media site X in reaction to the announcement.

Who is Shaboozey?

Shaboozey burst onto the country music scene this year with his two features on Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" album – which were the most of any artist on that record – as well as his hit single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)."

The Virginia native's song held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard top 100 for 19 straight weeks, tying the record set by Lil Nas X's 2019 hit "Old Town Road." Shaboozey earned several awards nominations for "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," including nods at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Country Music Association awards (CMAs) and a win at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards for "New Artist Song of 2024."

Shaboozey himself was also nominated for a couple of new artist awards at the VMAs and CMAs, and he won New Artist of 2024 at the People's Choice Country Awards.

He's also nominated for five Grammys: Best New Artist, Best Melodic Rap performance (for "Spaghetti" with Beyoncé), and Song of the Year, Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance, all for "A Bar Song (Tipsy)."
