After winning their final five games last season, the San Francisco 49ers have raised expectations for 2018. They can draw inspiration from their new throwback uniforms.

The team unveiled a new alternate uniform Wednesday night that pays homage to the 1994 championship team. According to the team, the all-white threads have the same drop-shadow around the numbers, three-stripe sleeves and black and red pant stripe as those worn by the 1994 squad that went 13-3 and routed the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX.

General manager John Lynch got a hand from a member of that title team in showing off the throwbacks: Legendary receiver Jerry Rice donned his old uniform and joined current 49ers Joe Staley, DeForest Buckner, Robbie Gould, Richard Sherman and Kyle Juszczyk for the unveil at the team's annual state of the franchise event.

"I'm back in uniform. It feels really good," Rice joked in a behind the scenes video posted on the 49ers Twitter page. "I think I'm ready to go. I think I got maybe about 80 receptions in me. Just put me on the field."
