If there was an MVP of Packers Family Night it had to have been Omar Brown.

The safety was doing his best Xavier McKinney impression inside Lambeau Field on Aug. 2 with three interceptions, two against Malik Willis and one against Sean Clifford.

It has continued a breakout training camp for Brown ahead of the team's first preseason game.

You might be asking yourself right about now: Who is Omar Brown?

Here's what we know about Brown, the star of Family Night.

Omar Brown age

Brown is 24 years old.

Omar Brown position, depth chart

Brown is a safety. He's third on the strong safety depth chart behind fellow second-year player Evan Williams and veteran Zayne Anderson.

He's likely on the fridge of making the roster but if he keeps this up — his three Family Night picks are in addition to two he had during earlier training camp practices — and carries it over into the preseason games, he may be tough to keep off the roster.

Brown is definitely a player to watch starting next week for the first preseason game on Aug. 9. He may just be getting warmed up.

Omar Brown at Northern Iowa and Nebraska

Brown began his college career at the University of Northern Iowa of the Football Championship Subdivision. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman for the Panthers. He had 77 tackles, including 11 in his first game, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries. That earned him spots on several all-conference and All-American teams. He was the FCS Defensive Freshman of the Year.

COVID disrupted his sophomore year. The Panthers didn't play in 2020 but Brown participated in an abbreviated spring season in 2021 and then a season-ending injury in fall 2021 limited him to seven games. Despite that, he still earned a spot on Hero Sports' FCS All-American Sophomore Defense Team.

After all the success at UNI, Brown entered the transfer portal and moved up a level to the Football Bowl Subdivision and into the Big Ten to play at Nebraska.

He appeared in 23 games across two seasons. In his final year, Brown had 51 total tackles, with three for a loss, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Brown went undrafted in 2024.

Omar Brown Nebraska highlights

Here are some of his college highlights at Nebraska:

Omar Brown with the Packers, contract

Brown is not a stranger to the Packers.

After he was waived at the end of training camp by the Denver Broncos last summer, the Packers quickly signed the undrafted free agent to their practice squad.

That's where he spent most of his season but he was elevated to the main roster for the first time for the Packers' Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints.

He was also activated for the team's final two regular-season games.

Brown was one of 12 players to sign a futures/reserve contract with the Packers following the 2024 season. His contract is one year for $960,000, according to Spotrac.
