Police charge four with trespassing, resisting arrest for incident during game

Police named the protesters who took part in a stunt during Monday Night’s Indianapolis Colts-Carolina Panthers game where two of the activists rappelled from an overhang at Bank of America Stadium.

In total, four individuals were charged with second-degree trespassing and resisting arrest. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department spokesman Keith Trietley told Paste BN Sports that John Nicholson, 29, David Baghdadi, 38, Angela Vogel, 36, and Erica Madrid, 36, were arrested for taking part in the incident.

Vogel and Madrid were released from custody Tuesday morning, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office website. All four are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

The activists are members of We Are Cove Point, an organization that seeks to halt Dominion’s Cove Point liquefied natural gas export facility in Maryland. (Bank of America is helping finance the project.) The banner, unfurled by the two rappellers in the third quarter, read “BoA: Dump Dominion”

Bank of America didn’t immediately respond to Paste BN Sports on Tuesday.

We Are Cove Point actually sought donations on its website to pay for the protesters’ bail, which the organization said was $1,500 each.
