Panthers LB Thomas Davis leaves game with arm injury
Thomas Davis' NFL career has been defined by his resilience in response to tearing his anterior cruciate ligament three times.
But the Carolina Panthers linebacker suffered another setback on Sunday.
Davis suffered a broken right arm in the second quarter of the NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals. But he pledged to play in Super Bowl 50 against the Broncos on Feb. 7 in Santa Clara, Calif.
Davis, the defense's emotional leader and all-pro selection, was hurt when Cardinals tight end Darren Fells jumped into him while attempting to break a tackle.
Panthers safety Roman Harper also left the game with an eye injury and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
