Cam Newton wears pregame shirt with Martin Luther King Jr. quote

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who said this week he’s in a “lose-lose” situation if he addresses topics of racial politics, made a statement with his attire on Sunday.

When he came out for warmups at Bank of America Stadium before the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Newton was wearing a jersey that contained a line Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in his Letter from a Birmingham jail:

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Demonstrations and protests have been prevalent in Charlotte after the officer-involved shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott.
