Panthers' Greg Olsen to join Fox Sports broadcast team during bye week

A current NFL player will spend part of his team's bye week in the broadcast booth.
Fox Sports announced Thursday that Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen will join its network as a game analyst for the Nov. 19 meeting between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, while the Panthers are in the midst of a bye week.
It will be just the third time in the network's history that a current player has worked as a game analyst during the season, according to a press release from Fox Sports. Matt Hasselbeck and Marcus Allen previously worked as guest analysts as active players in 2014 and 1994, respectively.

“It’s going to be a little strange making the transition from the field to the broadcast booth this week," Olsen said in a statement, "but I’m really pumped to take on the challenge."
Olsen has three catches for 28 yards this season and has spent much of the year on injured reserve. The three-time Pro Bowler broke a bone in his foot during Carolina's second game of the season and is eligible to return Nov. 26.
Before he returns, though, Olsen will join Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis and Pam Oliver on Fox's broadcast at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota.
