Patriots agree to deal with ex-Jets LB David Harris, per report

The New England Patriots are welcoming yet another star formerly employed by their bitter AFC East rivals.
Longtime New York Jets linebacker David Harris, who was released earlier this month as the team's roster purge hit high gear, is joining the reigning Super Bowl champions. Harris, a veteran of 10 NFL seasons and perhaps the Jets' steadiest player since he was drafted in 2007, agreed to a two-year deal, according to ESPN.
Harris, who's averaged nearly 110 tackles per year over the course of his career, could start alongside linebacker Dont'a Hightower in New England's base defense.
Many Jets have eventually found a new home with Bill Belichick and Co. in recent years, a list that includes Danny Woodhead, Shaun Ellis and Darrelle Revis.
