Patriots trade QB Jacoby Brissett to Colts for WR Phillip Dorsett

As the Indianapolis Colts wait for Andrew Luck to make his return to action after offseason shoulder surgery, the team has welcomed another quarterback into the fold.
The Colts acquired Jacoby Brissett from the New England Patriots in a trade Saturday in exchange for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.
Brissett started two games for the Patriots as a rookie during Tom Brady's four-game suspension after backup Jimmy Garoppolo was injured. He led the team to a 27-0 win over the Houston Texans in his first start, though the Patriots lost 16-0 to the Buffalo Bills the ensuing week.
Owner Jim Irsay has expressed doubt that Luck will be ready for a Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams, while backup Scott Tolzien was uneven in the preseason.
A first-round pick in 2015, Dorsett gets a new start in New England after a disappointing run in Indianapolis. He had just 51 catches for 753 yards and three touchdowns in two years for the Colts.
The Patriots lost leading receiver Julian Edelman to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the preseason.
