DENVER – The Oakland Raiders hope they've avoided a serious injury to their starting quarterback once again.

Derek Carr was taken to the locker room after he injured his back on hit a by Denver Broncos defensive lineman Adam Gotsis. He did not return in the 16-10 loss after being listed as questionable.

Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said Carr had suffered back spasms, adding that he does not believe the injury will be a long-term problem.

Carr, who was initially evaluated in a tent on the sideline before heading to the locker room, was replaced by E.J. Manuel.

Carr suffered a broken fibula in Week 16 of last season.
