The Oakland Raiders' backfield depth has already taken an offseason hit.

Running back Isaiah Crowell suffered a torn Achilles and is expected to miss the 2019 NFL season, according to multiple reports.

Crowell, 26, signed a one-year contract with the Raiders this offseason after rushing for 685 yards and six touchdowns on 143 carries for the New York Jets last season. He was released in March after the Jets signed running back Le'Veon Bell.

Rookie Joshua Jacobs, the No. 24 overall pick in the first round out of Alabama, likely will take on an even larger share of Oakland's workload. NFL Network reported the team also re-signed Doug Martin, last year's leading rusher, later on Wednesday.

Jalen Richard, De'Andre Washington and Chris Warren III are the only other backs on the roster at this point.

Veteran Marshawn Lynch, who ran for 376 yards on 90 carries last year, plans to retire, according to multiple reports.
