WR DeSean Jackson to join Las Vegas Raiders after being waived by the Rams
Veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson is headed to the Las Vegas Raiders, according to a text he sent to Paste BN Sports+.
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters last week the team had been searching for a trade partner to deal Jackson. When a deal did not materialize before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, the Rams waived Jackson.
Jackson was not claimed on waivers, making him a free agent eligible to sign with any team.
Jackson appeared in just seven games for the Rams and caught eight passes on 15 targets. He spent the previous two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he began his career in 2008.
The 34-year-old has made three Pro Bowl appearances and ranks fourth among active players in receiving yards.
The Raiders have an open spot at the position after waiving Henry Ruggs III, who is facing charges for his role in a fatal car accident Tuesday morning.
