Ravens: GM Ozzie Newsome ill, doesn't fly with team
CHICAGO – Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome fell ill during Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears and didn't return home on the team charter.
"Ozzie Newsome did not feel well after today's game and a team doctor recommended that Ozzie not fly tonight," the team said in a statement.
No further information was immediately available.
Newsome, 57, has been the Ravens' GM since November 2002. He played 13 seasons in the NFL as a tight end with the Cleveland Browns from 1978 to '90, making three Pro Bowls.
