Gary Kubiak to remain with Ravens as coordinator

Gary Kubiak is giving himself at least another year as an assistant before a possible return to a head-coaching role.

Kubiak will return to the Baltimore Ravens as offensive coordinator next season, the team announced Sunday night, eschewing other NFL teams that had expressed interest in him for their head-coaching vacancies.

"It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions, and I greatly appreciate these opportunities," Kubiak said in a statement posted to the team's website. "But I have decided to stay with the Ravens.

"This is a special organization and we, like [Head] Coach [John] Harbaugh says, are building something great. I want to be a part of that and contribute in whatever ways I can."

Kubiak joined John Harbaugh's staff in 2014 after leading the Houston Texans from 2006-13, compling a 63-66 record in that span. The Ravens finished No. 29 in total offense this season, but the team finished 10-6 and advanced to the divisional round before falling to the New England Patriots.
